About Me
ABOUT ME
Hello everybody
My name is Molate Mashifane, a son, husband, father, and brother. I am a project and risk management enthusiast who has been fortunate to obtain post graduate qualifications in both disciplines. I count the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) and UNISA as my alma maters.
I am fascinated by how these two disciplines affect different aspects of our lives. As a result, I am spending time sharing thoughts, insights, and ideas on how I can help others create and preserve value through project and risk management.
Through my blog and other digital content platforms , I will explore the intricacies of and interplay between project and risk management disciplines in the new normal. I will do so in different contexts including personal, business, and politics. I will leverage on my experience and exposure to share my thoughts, insights, and ideas which you will find valuable in your quest for value.
Please join me on this exciting journey and let me know how we can collaborate in creating value.
Work Experience and Exposure
I have over 11 years of experience in the legislative sector. Nine years spent working as Advisor to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) Deputy Speaker. With three years as the organisation’s Project Governance Officer (PGO). I currently serve as a member of the following GPL committees: Secretariat, Risk Management, Business Continuity, Specification and Terms of Reference.
As Advisor to three successive GPL Deputy Speakers, I was responsible for advisory services, performance planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting. Including project & program management.
My PGO responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and implementing sound project methodology and governance framework for the GPL. I guide the translation of corporate strategy into a portfolio of projects and coordinate integrated risk & performance reporting. This is accompanied by change management.
International Exposure
Between 2012 – 2016 I was privileged to be appointed a member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Africa Region Secretariat which is based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
I have also travelled three continents: Africa (Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, and Seychelles), North America (Canada, Toronto, and Ottawa, United States, California) and Europe (England, Oxford, and London).
Academic Qualifications
I obtained a BA degree in Government, Administration, and Development and two post graduate qualifications in Risk Management, and Project Management (Cum Laude), with UNISA and USB, respectively. I am currently registered for a postgraduate qualification in Business Management and Administration.
My academic background puts me in a unique position to effectively execute business strategy using both operations and projects. The unique prism of risk management perspective enables me to detect & mitigate threats to strategy execution.
I am looking forward to our interaction.
Take care of yourselves and those around you!
